Why Mihraab exists
Daily worship needs are usually spread across many apps: one for prayer times, one for the Qur'an, one for supplications. Mihraab brings them together in one place that opens fast, doesn't force you to create an account, and isn't full of ads.
For religious questions, Mihraab is deliberately careful: Tanya AI answers must cite books and are not meant as fatwas. The scope limits of each feature are stated plainly on its own page.
Product principles
- Free and light. Core features are not locked behind payment and stay comfortable on a weak connection.
- Anonymous by design. There are no accounts. The worship checklist is tied only to the device through a marker cookie, not to the user's identity.
- Honest about limits. The inheritance and zakat calculators are estimation aids, and cases beyond their scope are referred to experts.
- Open sources are credited. Data comes from sources such as Aladhan, Al Quran Cloud, and open hadith repositories, with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag RI) method used for prayer times.
What is already live
- The Qur'an in 114 surahs with Indonesian translation and a 604-page mushaf mode.
- 44 supplications and dhikr, a 13-step prayer guide, automatic prayer times from your location, and qibla direction.
- A zakat calculator (wealth, fitrah, income) and a faraidh inheritance calculator computed locally.
- A hadith encyclopedia from 9 books, biographies of 414 scholars, and a catalog of hundreds of classical books.
- Two languages (Indonesian and English), installable as an app on the home screen, and running on its own domain since 2026.
What's next
- In preparation Tanya AI with Claude The interface, per-user usage limits, and an emergency cost switch are ready. The next step is connecting it to the Claude API so answers cite books and remain free of fatwas.
- Planned Tafsir in Indonesian Not available yet because the data source currently in use has no Indonesian tafsir. This will be added once a reliable source is found.
How support will be used
Mihraab's costs are currently covered by its founder. Startup program support, API credits, and user appreciation will go toward Tanya AI inference costs, servers, and content verification, so the feature can be opened more widely without ads or restricting core features.
Team
Mihraab is designed, built, and maintained by its own small team.
